Frequently Asked Questions

  • My grandma gave me some money for my birthday, and I want to spend it on some really crappy albums from untalented bands. How can I purchase items from Bad Stain?

For information on how to order Bad Stain music and merchandise, please visit the “Order” page.

  • I placed an order with you and I never got my package! What’s up with that? Are you guys in the business of taking people’s money and then never shipping them the products and basically ripping them off or what?

Of course we are in the business of ripping people off.....because we are a record label.....although we focus more on ripping off the recording artists that we sign, and only screw our customers by selling them an inferior product, such as a poorly recorded album from an untalented band, or cheap merchandise of some kind. If it has been more than 14 days since you placed your order and have yet to recieve it, please contact us at: mailorder@badstainrecords.com.

  • I got a package in the mail today with the items that I ordered, and you guys managed to screw everything up. I swear, it’s like Bad Stain Records is pretty much the “Taco Bell” of the music industry! You guys sent me a small shirt instead of large, a beanie instead of the hat I ordered, which is also the wrong color, and the CD is from the wrong band! Sooooo.....are you guys gonna fix this mess or what?

Geez.....calm down. At least you got something. I guess if it’s that important to you that you get the exact things that you ordered, we will make up a whole new package and ship it to you. We are sorry about the mix up. We were probably a bit drunk or super baked or something. Anyway, just e-mail us at mailorder@badstainrecords and we’ll get the issue resolved.

  • I got my package in the mail today, and I realized that I made a mistake when I placed my order. I ordered the wrong album by mistake. Also, I ordered a medium shirt and I guess I should have ordered a large. Am I stuck with this crap now?

We are totally willing to trade out shirts, sweaters, or any other clothing if they end up not fitting correctly, as long as they are not worn or washed. We will also give you credit for any albums that you purchase and would like to return, provided that they are still unopened and still in their original shrinkwrapped packaging. Just email us at mailorder@badstainrecords.com for instructions on how to proceed.

  • I have a general question I would like answered. Who do I contact?

For general questions, please email us at info@badstainrecords.com. If you have a specific question for a certain individual or department, please refer to our “Contacts” page for a list of our employees and their duties.

  • Dude..... Your website is acting stupid. Like, I clicked on this thingy like four times and nothing happens. It’s totally not working. Like, why is your website so stupid?

If there is something stupid going on with our website and it doesn’t seem to be working properly in some way, please email us at webmaster@badstainrecords and tell us what problems you are having.

  • I am in a really crappy untalented band, and we are looking for a label stupid enough to sign us and give us an advance of around $500,000 that we plan on spending on cocaine, hookers, booze, and some other stuff. Will Bad Stain sign us?

To be honest, we are a very small label, and can barely afford coke, hookers, and booze for ourselves. We are always looking for new bands to take advantage of, and we listen to everything that anyone submits to us. Bands are more than welcome to send us a press kit for consideration, or email us an EPK or links to a website where we can listen to your music. Chances are, if you’re in a band that we would be interested in signing, we would have already approached you..... however, we discovered about half of our recording artists from their demo’s, so it’s worth a shot! Email EPK’s or links to info@badstainrecords.com and mail physical demo’s and press kits to:

  • I am putting together a compilation CD that features a bunch of mediocre punk rock bands called, “I Slammed my wiener in the top drawer of my dresser” and was wondering if any Bad Stain Recording artists would be on the album. I’m charging each band $500 to be on the compilation, and each band will get 4 copies of the CD to sell. They can buy additional copies for $8 each. So please just send me $500 for each band you want to include on the compilation.

Dude. We should slam your wiener in a drawer and then stick a number two pencil through your pee-hole. Bad Stain Recording artists don’t pay to be on compilations. We might consider allowing you to include some of our acts on a compilation album, as long as there is no fee to be on the album. Please email us at info@badstainrecords.com and give us all of the details regarding the compilation and someone will get back to you. Remember to include a list of other bands on the comp, the name of the record label or company that is releasing the album, and any other important information..... like whether it’s a non-profit album benefiting a charity, or a tribute album, or a compilation that has a certain theme, etc. Also, please let us know if the recording artist is required to include a previously unreleased track or not.

  • I’m a filmmaker in the middle of making an independent film and was wondering if I can use some Bad Stain Recording Artists music in my movie and include the songs on the official soundtrack. Who do I contact?

Please email us at info@badstainrecords.com with information about the film and what you require from us and someone will get back to you with an answer as quickly as they feel like it.

  • My great, great grandpa talks about how he had albums from Bad Stain Records when he was a kid, and says that many of the albums contained some of the best music that he’s ever heard. I wanted to buy the albums he recommended, but they are all out of print. Will Bad Stain ever repress any of their older releases?

In most cases if an album is officially out of press, we don’t repress it. Although there is always a chance that we will repress an out of print album, or release a new album that contains music from out of print releases.

  • I’m a promoter looking to book untalented bands that don’t have any fans. Can I book a Bad Stain Recording Artist to play a show and pay them $6, half of a chicken salad sandwich, 4 cans of Keystone Light, and a poster of Lady Gaga?

Bad Stain Records does not handle any booking or touring for our recording artists. You would need to contact the Booking Agent for the Artist that you are interested booking at your establishment. We are happy to give you the information if you just email us at info@badstainrecords.com

  • I noticed that my favorite Bad Stain Recording Artist is playing in my town and I’m in a super cool Hardcore Electro-Funk Emotronic New Wave Surf band that would love to open up for them! Can my band get on a show with a Bad Stain Recording Artist?

You would need to contact the promoter of that show and ask them. If you’re having trouble locating the promoter, you can usually get the information by contacting the venue that the band is performing at and they will give you the promoter’s contact info.

  • When is my favorite Bad Stain Recording Artist performing live in my town?

The best way to find out is to check the bands official website, or maybe the bands FaceBook or Instagram page. If you still don’t have any luck, try contacting the band and asking them to play your town, or ask a local venue or promoter to contact the band and book them to play a show.

  • I’m a promoter that is putting together a show and was wondering if I could convince Bad Stain Records to help sponsor the event. Can Bad Stain help me pay $6,000 for the venue rental fee and security costs? I will make sure to include your name in all radio commercials, print ads, web banner ads, and flyers in return.

We are a very small label, and unfortunately we just are unable to provide cash assistance when asked to sponsor a show in most cases. We do like the idea of you including our name and logo on all of the advertisements, so you are welcome to contact us and we will most likely approve that! In fact, we are willing to help out in other ways as well. If you would like Bad Stain to sponsor your event, we can help out by donating merchandise and gift certificates that you can include as prizes in a raffle, or give away to the first customers that purchase tickets, or whatever! We can also help out in a variety of other ways at times, such as releasing a compilation of bands performing at the show that can be sold or given away, making t-shirts for the event, helping to record a radio commercial for the show, helping to design flyers and/or web banner ads for the show, setting up a Bad Stain Merchandise and Autograph booth with select Bad Stain Recording Artists at the show......and so on. Bad Stain is very supportive of the local independent music scene in Arizona, and we are almost always willing to help sponsor local events in any way that we can at that time. Bad Stain Records Founder and President, Chase Stain, is the former owner of Laundromat Productions, which was a booking agency in Phoenix. Plus, many Bad Stain employees such as Moe Money, Johnny Laundromat, Justin Bleach, and Mohawk Bryan all worked at Laundromat Productions with Chase Stain, helping him book venues and artists, as well as organize and run the events. So we have a lot of experience and are willing to help out with anything you require. If you are interested in having Bad Stain Records sponsor your event, please contact us at info@badstainrecords.com with all of the information regarding the show, and someone will get back to you as soon as we are done binge watching the last season of Shameless.

  • I am an officer with the local police department and I am trying to reach someone about a very serious matter, but I cannot get anyone to respond to my emails or phone calls. We have had several private business owners and city officials file numerous complaints regarding acts of vandalism to both private, and public city property. These individuals have claimed that someone has placed several Bad Stain stickers on property throughout the city of Phoenix, as well as many surrounding cities as well. In addition, the victims filing the vandlism complaints have also stated that unknown individuals have placed hundreds of posters from Bad Stain Recording Artists advertising upcoming shows and/or albums. The excessive vandalism has become a very serious matter due to the financial damage caused by the removal of the stickers and posters that have been put on various items throughout the city. It is vital that someone from the record label get back to me immediately! Who should I contact regarding this important matter?

Oh wow! Ummmm..... yeah, we don’t know anything about any of that. I assure you that nobody from Bad Stain Records would put stickers on the back of Stop signs and signs at many intersections throughout the city...... or on streetlights in various shopping center parking lots.... We have never put a Bad Stain sticker on the back of a police SUV in the Walmart parking lot either. Also, we have never attached posters on the side of junction boxes and electrical boxes throughout the city using wallpaper glue so that they pretty much can never be removed and just end up having to be painted over. We have also never put the posters on the sides of business buildings, or on the walls of any high schools or anything like that. We are just as concerned as you are, and I assure you that we will do everything in our power to reolve this situation and determine the identity of the individuals who are causing so much damage as a result of the vandalism. Please feel free to contact our Head of Promotion, Jack Mehoff, at 1-800-328-4475, and he will assist you in any way possible.

  • I am the editor for an independent print zine and web-zine and would like to interview a Bad Stain Recording Artist. I also would love to review albums from Bad Stain as well. Can you send me albums to be reviewed and let me know how to schedule an interview with one of your bands?

Of course! Just email us at info@badstainrecords.com and let us know where to mail copies of albums to be reviewed. All that we ask is that you please mail us a copy of the zine with the review, or email us with a link to the review on your website. We will also get you information on how to contact the band you want to interview. If a Bad Stain Recording Artist is performing live at a venue in your town and would like to interview the band at the show, we will make sure to get your name on the guest list. Just email us and let us know which artist you would like to interview.

  • Why the hell can’t I find any social media pages or even websites for some of your artists? I’ve searched for hours and can’t find anything!

A select few of our recording artists are against the idea of punk bands having an online presence, and we fully respect that.....even though it means that they end up selling a lot less records due to such little exposure. Some of our bands feel like punk rock should be raw and honest, and appreciated in the moment. They feel like the internet easily corrupts people and forces them to conform and lose touch with many different aspects of life. So you will not find an online presence for a couple of our artists.
